Thomas J. Giblin, Esq.
Thomas J. Giblin has maintained a practice focus on legal advice and representation of individuals and organizations confronted with complex legal needs.
Mr. Giblin has extensive experience in complex litigation and has litigated some of the most intellectually challenging legal issues which have confronted the courts. He has been trial counsel in cases ranging from being lead counsel for the Plaintiffs in a multiple death disaster case to Plaintiffs counsel in a Four Thousand (4,000) member class action regarding Post-Retirement Health Insurance. He was counsel in one of the first cases in New Jersey involving the equitable distribution of lottery winnings. He was trial counsel in one of the largest labor racketeering cases ever to go to trial in the United States. Notably, Mr. Giblin was the successful trial counsel in a challenge to an award of a public bid contract for reportedly one of the largest senior citizen feeding contracts in the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Giblin has also received numerous appointments from the New Jersey Superior Court as a Special Master, Discovery Master, and Receiver in commercial litigation.
Additionally, Mr. Giblin has acted as trial counsel or directed the legal strategy in many other noteworthy labor related cases. He has also served as an alternate commission member of the Office of Collective Bargaining of the City of New York where he endorsed and executed over one hundred decisions involving important issues confronting the City of New York. He also has extensive experience in representing employee benefit funds. Mr. Giblin is also a skillful negotiator who has engaged in Collective Bargaining involving the New York Sign Industry, Automobile Industry, Sheet Metal Industry, Shipping Industry, Maritime Industry, Food Service Industry, and other forums.
The range of Mr. Giblin's practice is further directed at the financial advice and transactional needs of individuals and corporations. He has also advised many profit and non-profit corporations and organizations on formation, organizational and governance matters. Mr. Giblin has extensive experience regarding claims against religious organizations. Recently, Mr. Giblin developed a business module focusing on sustainable tourism in Europe.
As can be seen from his Curriculum Vitae, there is a predominant belief in consistent expansion of his educational qualifications. This continual updating and enhancement of educational qualifications is in addition to the continuing legal education requirements of the Bars of which he is a member. Mr. Giblin is also the editor of the Torture Chapter in a Treatise on Human Rights being written by Professor Winston Nagan and Professor Robert Munro. He is also on the Editorial Board of the Treatise "Money Laundering, Asset Forfeiture and Recovery and Compliance - A Global Guide" by William H. Byrnes and Robert J. Munro (Matthew Bender 2011).
